It’s Jubilee, our 50th year!
It has been a long road, but we gleefully followed the shining path of one man, a great man who is no longer with us – Apostle Frederick K.C. Price.
Every move was almost magical, from the tiny West Washington Community Church that seated about 150, to the establishment of Crenshaw Christian Center in Inglewood that seated about 1,400. But the people kept coming. They were hungry for what he taught, standing in lines that reached from the sanctuary to down the street.
So there was a second service and a third service until he built the FaithDome that seated a little more than 10,000.
From his fertile mind sprang a whirlwind of growth: The Ever Increasing Faith broadcast, the church-owned Air Faith One aircraft, and Crenshaw Christian Center East, the New York church.
Apostle wore faith like a backpack. It clung to him. He was never without it, and the people followed, like the pied piper. The world sought him, so he traveled it – to Europe, Africa, India, Australia, and the Caribbean, to anywhere the Lord said go.
He led us until he went to be with the Lord, an abode that will exist forever.
In upward flight, he left us his memory, that of a man who himself followed The Man – the Christ.
And like all great leaders he left a light to shine into the next generation, even his own son, Dr. Frederick K. Price. The son is uniquely himself. But in this he is like his father: a lover of the Word.
During this Jubilee celebration, we bring to you Crenshaw Christian Center – past, present, and future.

Dr. Jerry Savelle was an average, blue-collar man who struggled and needed God’s help. While he considered himself a “nobody,” when he became a believer, God told him not to worry about it because He was a master at making champions out of nobodies. God has since taken Dr. Savelle from being a constant quitter to a man who knows how to stand on the Word of God until victory is experienced. Because of the life-changing combination of God’s faithfulness and Dr. Savelle’s “no quit” attitude, his life is totally different than it was fifty years ago.
Since 1969, Dr. Savelle has been traveling the world, teaching people how to win in life. Harrison on October 4, 1975, who has co-labored with him in building a dynamic ministry that is recognized around the world.
This dynamic couple co-founded the outstanding New Light Christian Center Church (“One Church, Multiple locations”) in North, East, West, and South Houston; Beaumont and Austin, Texas. Bishop Jarron C. O’Neal has spent the last 15 years building and restoring members’ lives, multi–generational, multicultural families, youth, careers, and businesspeople. Partnering his business acumen with the Holy Spirit, he has been able to make critical strategic decisions that had positioned The Fountain Church International to become fully financially solvent and able to continue fulfilling its vision, building upon the foundation his parents established when they began the ministry in 1987.
Though Bishop O’Neal never aspired to be a Pastor, he’s been actively involved in ministry since the age of 11, serving wherever he could: playing drums, leading worship, working in the nursery, ushering, in sound technology, counting offerings, cleaning toilets, pulling up carpet;
he even painted the church exterior. He is famously quoted as saying, “I’ve done everything in the church except run the Women’s Fellowship!” and that is only because his parents wouldn’t let him.

In January 1980, with a group of 30 people, Pastors Casey & Wendy Treat started Christian Faith in Seattle, Washington. Today, Christian Faith is the largest church in the Pacific Northwest with more than 8,000 people attending weekly services at our three campuses: Federal Way, Mill Creek, and Online. In addition, Pastor Treat’s media ministries, Christian Faith International and the Christian Faith YouTube channel, have a worldwide outreach.
As a teenager, Casey Treat was involved with drugs and a worldly life. In 1974, at the age of 19, he entered a rehabilitation center. During his years there, he was born again and learned how to renew his mind through the Word of God. After receiving his Bachelor of Theology and getting married to Wendy, they launched Christian Faith.
Since then, Casey Treat has shared the straightforward message that God’s Word works. Through renewing of the mind to the Word and the power of the Holy Spirit, we can each all live a victorious and prosperous Christian life here on this earth. In 2009, Pastor Treat received an honorary doctorate degree from Hansel University in Seoul, South Korea (Dr. David Yonggi Cho & Dr. Kim Sunghae Cho), recognizing his accomplishments in the ministry for almost 30 year.
Casey Treat is a pastor, author and motivational speaker. He also hosts his own television program called Successful Living with Casey Treat. Traveling extensively each year, Pastor Treat speaks at many conventions and churches; his books and resources are distributed worldwide. Pastor Treat resides in the Seattle area with Wendy and have 3 adult children.
“Passionate”, “Edgy”, “Relatable”, “Powerful”, “Bold”; are just some of the descriptions that define the ministry and teachings of Dr. Michael A. Freeman.
A fourth-generation pastor, Dr. Freeman founded Spirit of Faith Christian Center (SOFCC) in 1993. His God-ordained assignment is to minister to the whole man – spirit, soul, and body – with special emphasis on faith, family, finances, fellowship, and fitness. His profound understanding of the Word and heart to teach God’s people in simplicity and power to achieve God’s best for their lives, has made Dr. Freeman one of most sought-after teachers in the Body of Christ, both nationally and around the globe.
Founded in 1993, Spirit of Faith Christian Center is one of the thriving and successful ministries in the nation, with three beautiful campuses in the DMV area. He and his wife, Deloris, (affectionately known as Dr. DeeDee), founded Marriage Made EZ, a ministry designed to uplift and encourage and train husbands and wives to celebrate and remain steadfast on God’s intent and purpose for the marriage covenant.
Devoted to the vision of the ministry, Dr. DeeDee serves alongside her husband to ensure that his God-given assignment is carried out. An example to many, her lifestyle, and teachings both inspire and challenge women to develop strong relationships with God and their families, and passionately encourages women to be incubators for their husband’s visions and dreams. Dr. DeeDee is an anointed and uncompromising teacher of the Word of God with a passionate desire to see the Body of Christ to have what God intended.
Crenshaw Christian Center (CCC) was founded by Apostle Frederick K.C. Price in 1973 with some 300 members. Eight years before establishing CCC, Apostle Price (then Pastor Price) pastored West Washington Community Church, a small church in Los Angeles, under the auspices of the Christian and Missionary Alliance. However, after having matriculated through several different denominations and experiencing a lack of positive results in his life and ministry, Pastor Price had grown dissatisfied with his personal spiritual development. So began his search for a more fruitful Christian experience. This led to his being filled with the Holy Spirit (according to Acts 2:4) on February 28, 1970. Shortly after this experience, Pastor Price came into contact with the Bible teaching ministry of Kenneth E. Hagin, as well as the faith and healing ministry of Kathryn Kuhlman, and both greatly impacted his life. Resulting of his thirst for learning how to live the victorious overcoming life that faith brings, Pastor Price rapidly grew in the knowledge and reality of God’s Word and began teaching others the Word that God was teaching him.
As Pastor Price and his congregation grew in the operation of faith and continually acted upon the Word, signs followed. One of those signs was a steady growth in church membership. Eventually, the building on Washington Boulevard (which seated only 158 persons comfortably) became too small for the growing congregation. Following through with a plan the Lord shared with him about establishing a new church independent of denominational ties, ideal facilities were found at 9550 Crenshaw Boulevard in the city of Inglewood, a suburb of Los Angeles. It was at that site that Crenshaw Christian Center was founded on November 26, 1973, and the 300-member assembly held its first service.
To accommodate the now burgeoning congregation of inquisitive believers desiring to receive the Word and experience the move of the Holy Spirit, in 1977 the 1400-seat church was forced to go to two services, and later three. Overflow rooms with closed-circuit television were also incorporated, and the lines of people coming to service continued to outpace the size of the facilities.
The multitudes at the door were not the only sign of increase. In April 1978, after being on the radio several times a week for a number of years, and without hesitation teaching Bible faith as the lifestyle of the believer, the missionary outreach arm of CCC, Ever Increasing Faith, began televising locally. Eventually, the telecasts expanded to five major U.S. cities in an effort to reach Black America. Just as Apostle Paul never lost sight of his Jewish brethren, Pastor Price (now Dr. Price) desired to reach his Black brethren through television and radio with the true message on faith and prosperity that is found only in Christ Jesus.
With an average of 5,500 people participating in three services each Sunday, along with an expanding television, radio, book and tape ministry, the church again needed larger facilities. In 1981, it purchased the 32-acre former campus of Pepperdine University, primarily for the construction of a 10,000-seat sanctuary. In 1984, CCC moved to this location and the groundbreaking for the new sanctuary took place in 1986. The building was completed in the fall of 1989.
The sanctuary, known as the FaithDome, is a geodesic dome that is used for Sunday services, special meetings, conventions, and crusades. A variety of other activities, including mid-week Bible studies, are held on the grounds of CCC. The FaithDome is one of the largest geodesic domes in the world and the first of its kind designed specifically as a church sanctuary.
Throughout its years in ministry, Crenshaw Christian Center’s impact has been experienced through several of its outreach ministries specifically designed for spiritual development and practical application of the Word. Among them are the Apostle Frederick Price Ministry Training Institute (1985), the CCC Correspondence School program (1994), and the Fellowship of International Christian Word of Faith Ministries (1990).
After several years of diligent study, training, and development in Bible teaching and pastoral leadership, Frederick K. Price (frequently referred to as Fred Price, Jr.) was ordained a minister of the Gospel in March 2002 by his dad (now Apostle Frederick K.C. Price) and installed as Pastor of Crenshaw Christian Center in March 2009. Again capably walking in his father’s footsteps, it was in July 2021 that Pastor Price became Dr. Frederick K. Price when he received his Doctor of Divinity degree from Bible Believers Christian College and Seminary.
Once serving a membership of as many as 30,000, today Crenshaw Christian Center continues to serve over 8,000 enthusiastic believers. CCC employs approximately 140 people within 12 distinct divisions and includes a preschool, elementary, middle, and high school. In addition to this operational base, there are 16 Helps Ministry auxiliaries and ministries with approximately 1745 volunteer workers who continue to assist Dr. Price along with his ministerial team and staff in fulfilling its commitment to Live Christ … Love People … Teach People.
Yes, Crenshaw Christian Center has indeed come this far by faith and…
