LOS ANGELES – David Siegel, Consul General of Israel in Los Angeles joined Pastor Frederick K. Price Jr. and the members of Crenshaw Christian Center, uniting in prayer in observance of The Day of Prayer for the Peace of Jerusalem. Siegel's message was the importance of partnership.

"Our experience in Africa taught us about partnerships between human beings around the world," said Siegel, "This is the power of what we can do together as human beings and as partners," he added about the efforts of assisting under-developed countries in Africa.
Siegel assumed the post in August 2011, where he serves as the senior representative of the state of Israel to the Southwestern United States. During his speech, he referenced the longevity of the alliance among the African-American and Jewish communities reminded the audience of the civil rights struggle in Israel.

"As the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King said, we have to strive every day to be one under God," said Siegel. "The African American movement was one of the first to support the idea of a Jewish state."
Siegel was proud to share that Israel is a highly diverse country with 120 nations. It is also the only nation in the Middle East with a Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. memorial and one of the only foreign nations in the world to commemorate Dr. Martin Luther King Day. Although Dr. King's dream included seeing Israel as a great outpost of democracy and how the desert land can be transformed into an oasis of brotherhood, Israel still has a ways to go.
"We realize this vision every day," said Siegel. "But like the struggle for civil rights and human rights, the struggle for Israel security is a daily struggle that will be with us for our lifetime."

The first Sunday of every October is globally celebrated as The Day of Prayer for the Peace of Jerusalem (DPPJ). Each year more than 300,000 churches and its members in over 175 nations unite in prayer for the peace of Jerusalem. Co-Chaired by Rev. Robert Stearns, founder and director of Eagles Wings Ministries, and Dr. Jack Hayford, president of the Foursquare International church, DPPJ is presently the largest movement of its kind with over 1,200 key leaders, such as Apostle Frederick K.C Price, presiding prelate of Crenshaw Christian Center.

"Israel and the Jewish people are extremely fortunate to have friends like the congregants of Crenshaw Christian Center. Through our unity and strength we will prevail in ensuring that Jerusalem remains the eternal, undivided capital of the State of Israel," said Siegel.

"The roots of our Christianity were birthed in Israel, the land of the Bible" said Apostle Price, "I believe that EVERY Christian should have the opportunity to learn of and see as much of Israel as possible!"

This will mark the first year for the Frederick K.C. Price and the Betty R. Price Israel Experience College Scholarships, which has been established in honor of the Apostle and Dr. Betty Price.
